Cokie Wei Bettina

Cokie is our dancing daughter. Seriously, she really loves to dance and sing (mostly songs from Sunday School or the latest Hannah Montana hit). She was burned very badly in China, but it doesnt' slow her down. I think she's had about 15 surgeries since she had her accident.  She has had five surgeries since we adopted her. We can't give enough thanks to the wonderful women of Hopeful Hearts (a group of European women in China who raise money for Chinese children who need medical care) and the generous Shriners who make Shriner's Hospitals possible. Cokie is an amazing little girl and such a little blessing.

This is Cokie with Susanne from Germany. Susanne is a volunteer with
Hopeful Hearts and was living in China in 2004-2005. She saw Cokie in the orphanage and arranged for Cokie to get medical care for her burns. She was also instrumental in helping us adopt Cokie. Click here for Cokie's story on the Hopeful Hearts Web site.

This family met Cokie during one of her hospital stays in China and became her special friends. We stay in touch with them regularly. We enjoy hearing about their life in China and really appreciate their continued concern for Cokie. It is nice to know we have such wonderful friends on the other side of the world.

Cokie and her new sisters check each other out while Mom signs on the dotted line.
